WHO IS MUTT'S SAUCE LLC

We are a proud small team of dedicated servants, producing and distributing a delicious line of all purpose, tomato-based sauce. Mutt's Sauce is proudly woman, minority, and veteran owned. Our sauce is co-packaged in Dayton, Ohio.

What makes mutt's sauce different from barbecue?

The man who created Mutt's Sauce, Charlie "Mutt" Ferrell, Jr. spent countless hours taking every great flavor in the kitchen and putting it in just the right order. First, the flavor is sweet, tangy, with a little bit of heat (in that order). Unlike barbecue, it's very pour-able, meaning, you can make drinks with it! You'd never drink bbq or put it on a salad, but you can with Mutt's Sauce.

HOW DO I PICK WHICH FLAVOR TO BUY?

Glad you asked. Each flavor can suit a different palette, so a Combo Pack is a great decision. The founder, Charlynda, grew up eating the Original flavor because she doesn't like spicy food. The Sweet N Spicy is very popular for everyday cooking, like crockpot chicken. No, Ghost Pepper will not 'set you on fire' or 'kill you'. It is warmer than regular pepper, and we use a tiny bit of powdered ghost pepper to give a nice aftertaste.  

What are the allergens? is it gluten free?

Mutt's Sauce is manufactured in a facility that also has eggs, wheat, and soy. The only declared allergens in Original, SweetNSpicy, and Ghost Pepper are wheat and soy. Those three flavors are NOT gluten free-- they contain soy sauce. There is no dairy or animal products in the recipe, so yes, it's vegan-friendly.  

We manufacture a Gluten-Free version of Mutt's Sauce. Instead of soy sauce, we use Tamari.

HOW SHOULD I STORE mutt's sauce?
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

The shelf life of Mutt's Sauce has been laboratory tested and shown to have a TWO YEAR shelf life. The expiration date is also laser printed on every bottle. The preservative used in Mutt's Sauce is white vinegar. If you open it up, it's best to refrigerate it and use it within the year. Also, if it sits awhile, you will notice a separation, like Italian dressing. Many sauces use xantham gum to thicken it and make it look 'pretty' on the shelf. We only care about it tasting good. Give it a shake and get the party started.

Why do some of the items say "pre-order"?

We don't carry all of the flavors in stock at the same time. Once our inventory gets low, we will list it as pre-order as we do the work behind the scenes to schedule a manufacturing day. Also, a couple flavors are 'special treats' and only come around once or twice a year. One example is Bourbon. It takes more coordination and supplies are pricier, so it's best to get your pre-order in as soon as it's announced!

My local store is out of mutt's sauce. What do I do?

Pitch a schoolyard fit! Just kidding. Go speak to the grocery manager and let him/her know that you showed up to get your favorite sauce and they need to restock. This will cause a chain of events that seriously help us get on the shelf in more places. Thank you!

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

What is your return policy?

Apparel and gear can be returned up to 30 days from the date of purchase for in-store credit, a refund, or a replacement. If there is physical damage to the package or you feel it is unsafe to consume, contact us with a photo and your order number. You deserve to have the best experience possible, so we will issue a full replacement. If you require further assistance, please email info@muttssauce.com

HOW CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER AFTER IT’S BEEN PLACED?

Since the turnaround time on packages is so fast, changing or canceling an order after it’s been placed is really difficult. We recommend emailing or calling us IMMEDIATELY if there is an issue with your order. Your email should include CANCEL/CHANGE ORDER #_____ in the subject line. Our customer service team is available for immediate order changes Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM MT. We will always do our best to make sure that you’ll get what you need, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able to fix the order before it ships out.

HOW DO I ENTER DISCOUNT CODES?

On the last page, before your click "Complete my purchase," there will be a box where you can enter your discount code. Once you have entered the code, click "Apply." Your total amount will be updated to reflect the discount.
